This agate snail is one of the largest land snail species in the world. They can grow up to 20 cm long. Usually they remain smaller, up to 16 or 18 cm. They occur in Tanzania and Zanzibar. They can lay up to 200 eggs at a time. The young animals have a light-dark brown spotted house. Older animals turn browner.
