Although originally from Kenya and Tanzania, this species now occurs in almost all tropical regions. Here she was partly introduced to use as food but because they adapt well to new environments and reproduce quickly, they became a real pest in many places.
This is the most kept snail species in terrariums. They can grow 10 to 12 cm with a maximum of 15 cm.
